We've recently heard this rubber being compared to the original V1, so it's possible that this rubber will feel similar to what you are used to. The J3 is a hybrid rubber, so it's not going to have the full tackiness of a Chinese rubber, but the advantage lies in the dynamic sponge. The main difference between this rubber and the V1 would likely be the hardness, as the new J series are offered in harder versions than the V1. Try it out and see how you like it!
