Hello,
This is used to balance the blade anywhere you would like. If placed around the edge of the blade towards the top, you will increase the potential for power. If you add them to the very bottom of the handle, the control will automatically increase, and you will lose some power. I usually add these to my handle to add control, and when I do, I cover them with a nittaku grip tape to make it comfortable on the hand, so I do recommend that for anyone using this product on the handle.
