Are "practice" balls appropriate for club play?
My little table tennis club plays at a health club. The health club management has offered to provide the balls for club play, but they want to buy the practice balls in bulk (120 balls per box). The description for these balls says that they play like 3-star balls. But are they really as good as 3-Star balls? Should I demand the use of 3-star balls (which are what I'm used to) despite being more expensive? This is not tournament play; just a laid-back club.
